Oiled oak is a living finish. It marks, and it forgives — which is the point.
Everyday care
Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth, then dry. Use coasters for the first month while the oil cures.
Once a year
Wipe on a thin coat of hardwax oil with the cloth in your care kit, wait ten minutes and buff off the rest.
A water ring on oiled oak is a sanding job of five minutes, not a new table.
Scratches and rings
- Light marks: re-oil the spot and blend it in
- Deeper scratches: sand with 240 grit along the grain, then oil
- Anything worse: send us a photo and the workshop will quote
